Shadow is the former main antagonist of the episode The Shadow of Courage. He is the living shadow of a very cruel Rich Guy, who managed to free himself from his dead body.
History
Shadow inherited the cruelty of the rich guy, and enjoyed scaring people. However, he was also easily frightened as well. The crackling of thunder caused him to retreat into the Bagges' house, where he started scaring Eustace and Courage. After being cornered by Courage, Shadow reveals he is a conflicted individual who is upset with his connection with the rich guy, and expresses his fantasies of being a famous star in show business.
Willing to help, Courage took him into the night sky, where the real stars were. Shadow waved Courage a happy goodbye as he leapt into the cosmos, becoming an angel-like silhoutte. Shadow vanished, and in his place, a new star appeared.

- In the Japanese dub, Shadow is voiced by Yuko Ogiso.
- The Rich Guy died in an observatory looking towards the night sky. This may be a foreshadowing to Shadow's happy ending.
